Where to start using physics engine?
I've placed a car model in a map as "EntHumanPlayer". Here is the problem: What should I do if I want to accelerate the car? Now it just move at a fixed speed. Do I have to explore Physics.cpp and are there any simple ways to implement the acceleration? What should I do if I want the car to make rea...

Re: Questions about debug&step
Well, never mind. I just figure out how to debug with gdb in Geany, and I can use Step-Into sucessfully. Geany is really a great light IDE and you can use set scons within it to build.
Keep on exploring

Questions about debug&step
Is there any way that I can use "step" command of gdb to debug DeathMatch? For example , in VisualStudio, I can add a breakpoint to a line(the code may be an invoke of a function), when the program comes to this line, it pauses and I can use Step-Into to go into the function to see how the it actual...

Re: Is there a main function?
We use UltraEdit here, which seems to have all the features that we deem important: Can run Scons (or any other external program), capture the output, and jump to the proper place in the code if we double-click on an error message. Search (and replace) in files (very conveniently and powerfully imp...

Re: Is there a main function?
For the general Problem: The main function is in Ca3DE/CaFU.*pp and the mod itself has none. When you inspect the Sconscript and set the linker paths in your IDE (HELL of work, I can tell you!) you got the right autocorrects and inclusions. Yeah, I've ever tried to set the linker paths according to...

Is there a main function?
I'm new to game development, and I'm developing my first 3D game with Cafu. I've been reading documents and exploring code for several days. Just feel a little confused, is there a main function or something like that? Where does the game(if we see it as an ordinary program)start? I can't find any m...

Re: Material Problems in Ubuntu 11.10
Hi Carsten
HelloGame is just a copy of DeathMatch.(It's recommended to start my own MOD by doing that, right?)
I tried to extract both SkyDome.zip and TechDemos.zip, but both of them required passwords...
Could you please provide me with the passwords or just the extracted files?
Thanks!

Material Problems in Ubuntu 11.10
I'm exploring CaWE this afternoon, and it seems to work fine in Win7. I created a map, inserted some entities.... But when I copied the map to Ubuntu11.10 and compiled sucessfully, I found that the sky was totally black.(Everything is OK in CaWE in Ubuntu 11.10, the sky is only black when I start Ca...

Re: Can I run VSMW as a game like DeathMatch?
Thanks for your reply! I just felt confused though it works fine. Now I'm clear. It seems there are still a lot to do with the docs about Cafu. I hope I can help you with that later when I finish my homework project which I want to finish by implementing a racing game based on Cafu.

Can I run VSMW as a game like DeathMatch?
I'm new to Cafu, in fact , I just downloaded the src and compiled it under Ubuntu 11.10. It works fine when I run DeathMatch by typing ./build/linux2/g++/debug/Ca3DE/Cafu in terminal. However, I noticed that there is also a directory called VSMW in Games. Does that mean it's also a game that I can r...
