Re: What files are absolutely needed?

Yes, for a release, you can delete everything that is listed in source_dirs , please see: https://bitbucket.org/cafu/tools/src/master/make_binary.py#lines-208 but not CaWE/res and maybe some of the textures that you want to keep. Alternatively, maybe the function at https://bitbucket.org/cafu/tools/...

Re: What files are absolutely needed?

Dear xjonx,
welcome to the Cafu forums! :welcome:

Do you mind looking this up in the Python script that I use to make the Cafu binary release? Please have a look at:
https://bitbucket.org/cafu/tools/src/ma ... _binary.py

If you have trouble, I'll explain what the script does.

Re: Binary vs Latest Release?

Hello Ethael, I've just uploaded a new package, please see the Dive-In page at “Binary Releases”. Can you please try that? Please note that the active development of Cafu has slowed down somewhat over the last few years. This is because I'm very involved in a couple of other projects, so you may fin...

Re: Binary vs Latest Release?

Hi Ethael, sorry for the delay! Many details have changed since the previous binary release was made and I'll need a couple more days to bring everything up to date so that a new release can be built. I'll finish this as soon as possible and let you know as soon as it is available! Btw., I'm also in...

Re: Entity Documentation is not correct.

Would the "Receiving Entity Baselines....." message be any hint as to what needs to be changed/added? I would not generally say that. If that message doesn't disappear by itself, something is possibly wrong. A suggestion: If you have trouble with that message and cannot fix it yourself, send me you...

Re: Entity Documentation is not correct.

Hello Wolfsong, So, the documentation seems to be out of sync with the binary release you have on the site. Yes, that's unfortunately true. I'm very sorry about this, but my involvement in several other large projects currently don't leave me with enough spare time to update the docs. Also, it seems...

Re: Binary vs Latest Release?

Hello Wolfsong73, welcome to the Cafu forums! :welcome: Unfortunately, our binary demo releases are really lagging behind. This is due to both my current lack of time as well as to the way these releases are made. I'm currently working to switch our build process to CMake, of which I hope that it si...

Re: spam, spam.. how I loath it

Hi arfur9, yes, you're certainly right. I hate spam as well, and who doesn't? We already have a question on the registration form in place in order to make automatic registrations by spam bots more difficult. Custom, unique questions are supposed to be one of the most effective measures against spam...

Re: snprintf error

It's normal that when a Cafu executable is run for the first time, there is a question if it is allowed to open a network connection. This is because we actually run a network game even for single player games, connecting the local client to the local server in the same executable. But the virus sca...

Re: snprintf error

Hi arfur, it's good to hear that you could resolve the problem with the snprintf() call! Were the executables that AVG removed those that ship with the 2013 demo or those in your custom build? Do you have any details about what AVG's complaint with these files is? I'm still a bit indecisive abo...

Re: No Cafu.exe

Hello TWP, welcome to the Cafu forums! :welcome: At this time, I'm unfortunately very occupied with other projects, so I barely have time to create new binary releases. (Actually, coming up with a better build system, likely on the basis of https://cmake.org/, is intended and planned as a next step ...

Re: No Cafu.exe

Hello Rob,
welcome to the Cafu forums! :welcome:

At the above mentioned dive-in page, you can get the Cafu source code or (a bit lower on the same page in section Binary Releases) ready-made binary demos. The latter come in zip files and contain the executables.

Re: Serious question about Cafu.exe and CaWE rendering problems.

It's great to hear that you solved the problem! :wohow: Why exactly it didn't work with 16 BPP is difficult to tell from here, as I cannot see the details of your system. However, I actually would have expected quite the opposite, namely that it doesn't work with 16 BPP at all and quits with an erro...
