Depending on where you are located geographically, it can be very worthwhile to compare even among amazon domains: I recently looked for a book that was priced 99,95 Euro for a used exemplar at http://www.amazon.de (and was the only exemplar available), whereas at http://www.amazon.com the same boo...

Amazon.com
Hi Carsten,
Im considering buying some books of Amazon.com, yet I notice they say that International shipping takes 3 - 6 weeks, which seems a bit much.
How long does it take you on average to get books delivered?

just curious does ne1 have experience with C#? i was wondering if it has any advantages to cpp as far as game and graphics stuff i dont, but that wont stop me from commenting 8) The C# language itself isn't much better than C++ i don think, infact it could be a lot worse, anyway C++ isn't lacking m...

Carsten is probably more qualified to be telling you about stuff like this really, but I'll tell you what I've done so far. I basicly ripped some windows code because I don't know anything about it, but I plan to change it later, so it's very loosly connected to the rest of the engine. I have an en...

Well you can have a look at companybot.cpp, its a pretty simple behavior. I think it works like: Just look for an entity that is alive and existing and try to "walk" towards the target at specific distance. Thats it .. Yea, i got that.. but how does it avoid walls, and follow me through passageways...

If you don't have a basic engine going I don't see why you should be looking for anything more advanced than nehe's tutorials. It takes a while before you even draw any decent graphics anyway, so maybe you should be concentrating on file input  Ic, but what would a "basic engine" consist of? ...

Re: in which language should i programm my own game?
Can i use java in connection with your c++ dlls? Ummm, don't you mean your c++ dlls? Youre supposed to create the DLL, and Carsten's engine uses it. Unless Java can make DLL's, i dont think you can use it. Carsten, how come other C++ compilers dont work with the engine? You said the classes, pointe...

3D Engines
Hi, Im interested in 3D programming and i wish i could make an engine like Ca3D. Anyone know some good online tutorials related to 3D (other than NeHe's tutorials - they only cover simple OpenGL stuff), and 3D engine development? Or more importantly what subjects should i study to make an engine in ...

Hi, I have a relatively old computer yet i still wanted to try your engine, it works at 1024x800 resolution, but its too slow. When i type 'v_describeresolutions' (something like that - i forgot  ), it lists like 500 different types, but i only get to see the last few, so i cant see the number...
