For a while we were using the C++ Quake 2 with the Delphi port of the game86.dll and things worked just fine. So I guess porting from one language to another is possible...in theory. Havn't tried it for Ca3DE mind I'm not that suicidal.
There are limitations in the bone structure, but don't forget that the next release of Ca3DE is mainly the MatSys and CaWE. There shuld be a new model format on the way and as for redoing all the anims, we will have to redo them at some point.
It's been released, you need VALVe's 'Steam' service installed and HL2 pre-ordered. While it can open maps in .map format it will only save in .vmf which means that no support for Ca3DE .

What exactly happens? Error Message? Can't see you textures in a world editor? I havn't made any textures yet but I'm pretty sure that you need a Normal, Differential and Specular texture for it to be valid.
