That sounds like a huge update! Good luck.
I just fixed my good computer a few days ago, and I'm downloading the most recent version now. The GUI looks awesome.

Anyways, I would suggest to not write a Sky tut at all, because making a sky with Ca3DE reduces to apply a sky material to a brush in CaWE, just as with any other material. The engine and the MatSys then get things right. So making a sky is really trivial, and I don't think it needs mentioning in a...

So while there will probably be changes to handling water in the future, for now please continue to use the func_water entity. Will we actually be able to swim up and stuff, or is it just updates to the shader? Sorry I couldn't write any tutorials yesterday and the day before. I'll see if I can on ...

3D Skydomes
Are you thinking of implementing 3D skydomes in Ca3DE? They really add a lot of depth to a world, and make it seem larger. You can read about them in the Valve Developer Wiki . Here's a quote: Adding a 3D skybox can be a powerful addition to the visual treatment of a level. The 3D skybox is extra ar...

Carsten, can you fix up the tree section of the entityguide? I had no idea what it is (the fgd just says "tree" in the comments)... Is it even used? Wednesday and thursday are holidays for me, so I will try to write some more tutorials then! I can probably do the Camera and NewBrush editing tools, a...

So you're saying that if I specficy the windows executables for Ca3DE, CaBSP, CaPVS and CaLight, in the CaWE Config (which I already did) it will compile with them, on Linux? I would have thought that you need to select the Linux binaries, but this is not possable, as the dialogue will only let me s...

CaWE Linux error
This is just a little error: CaWE wants me to specify .exe files for the programs (CaBSP, CaPVS, CaLight etc.). It doesn't matter yet, because it doesn't have the compile menu though... EDIT: Sorry, I should have been clearer. I am in the CaWE Configuration dialogue, and when I click "Browse" to sel...

However, I wonder if implementing a master server with a PHP script would be robust enough e.g. against (d)DoS attacks. I.e. can a challenge/response system be implemented sufficiently with such a script? I'm not sure about stopping DoS attacks... I'll do some research. Security could also be an is...
