Call for website theme suggestions
Hello all,
it has been suggested several times that the Ca3DE main website should get a newer and more professionally looking theme.
In this thread, I would like to collect all suggestions for potential themes for the Ca3DE website. You can post images or links to live websites that serve as an example for themes that you would suggest for use on the Ca3DE website.
The key idea is to find a new, professional theme that is essentially "bright" (bright background, dark (black) font color). It should also be simple and clean, i.e. little or no grpahical gimics, but simple and contrastful colors, medium font size, etc.
Thank you very much for any suggestions!

To make a start, here is a list of pages whose theme I like:
http://www.focus.de/
Ignoring the advertisements, the articles are quite well arranged. The page looks differently under Windows and Linux; it looked better under Windows when I last checked.
http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/
http://www.crystalspace3d.org/main/Main_Page
Both sites are simple and clean, I like these a lot.
http://www.newtek.com/products/lightwav ... index.html
http://www.wxwidgets.org/
More examples for how relative simplicity can achieve professional results.
http://www.google.com
Notice how they separate headings and search results.

Uhhh... I'm surprised... are we looking at the same theme? Note that I'm referring to the one with the red horizontal navigation bar and light beige colors, not the dark grey one in the third "Author website" link.
I'd not say the theme is optimal (it's just a candidate I happend to stumble upon yesterday), and of course I realize that finding a nice theme is a very difficult question (therefore I've been starting this thread after all!), but I liked the theme for it's simplicity and find it straightforward and clear.
Anyways... this is what this thread is for...
Alternative suggestions?

Just more notes:
http://www.yaml.de/ (employed e.g. at http://www.fli4l.de )
The yaml "theme" is my new, current favourite.
http://www.laanix.de a nice forum theme. Quote from the page source: "/* vBulletin 3 CSS For Style 'Brown Circle' (styleid: 2) */"

Just another link to a Wiki with a theme that I liked: http://wiki.debian.org/SELinux
(Note that of course, when the Ca3DE websites are eventually re-styled, the new Ca3DE website, forum and wiki themes would all be make look-alikes of each other.)

I like the http://www.Yaml.de theme alot. The colour combination of the header is nice and easy on the eyes. I'm a big fan of sleek dark layouts
Some notes for completeness:
http://www.yaml.de has a new layout since the link was initially posted above, but the "old" design is still available with the yaml 2.5.x download package, which I have locally on my harddisk.
I also find http://www.hieblmedia.de/referenzen/index.html interesting, the site itself plus the listed references. All made with joomla + the yaml layout.

Red Evo Aphelion:

(linked from http://www.bestofjoomla.com/ )
