Uhm that is not exactly true, Scott
A good software is not helping you creating good content, that means that even the best tools can fail if the user is not able to handle them.

XSI is a real good software, its maybe the best when you need the highest level animation or photorealistic movie composites.
However XSI is not easy to handle, if you just need a simple modelling tool, XSI would not automatically the best choice.

So its better to invest the time to use a good basic modelling tool, than spend more time in learning another, very different tool.

What software is better than other depends by the users skill, software can only give a real good workflow.

Oh yeah while so many guns are shown here i created a simple concept for a handgun , its not a realistic one, 'cause there are soo many existing around the web.
And of course a realistic design would not really fit into the techdemo, which is more futuristic.

Hi Kai,

I like the guns and i a wonder how the texture could look like :)
Maybe a kind of Laserpointer or Mini-Flashlight could be mounted on top,
or a mini sniper scope would be pretty cool.

thats a cool gun
could do stuff like that but i lack the creativity... sometimes...
i mostly just take parts of guns and combine them.

nothing wrong with reviving this thread. it was made as an ongoing type of thing. i think that the scope on top looks kinda odd, same with the oversized hand thinger in front. i will post some of my latest models in an hour or so.

thanks, well i hope it rocks. the only real competitor i have found so far is digital paintball (http://www.digitalpaintball.net) and i belive PBX's graphics will far surpass dpb's. their guns just look 2 cartoony
