Enemy Characters
Any ideas on enemy characters that would inhabit the island? Perhaps creatures and animals?
I think that they should roughly "fit" to the fact that there is also an underground part.
Maybe something "generic" would be in order, as well as something more "specialized" to the underground building. That is, the island might give some clues and hints about what is going on underground... "generic" monsters may be used either additionally, for augmenting the complexity without being bound to the underground theme, or if the matter with the clues/hints is too difficult to model properly (as it requires that they fit well to the overall theme).
I also think that the maximum number of distinct monsters that we should aim at is 5.

thank you carsten and scott. i'm almost done modelling a creature, someone that's good in texturing will have to texture it though.

I like it, too.
You never know wether its a lovely pet, or a dangerous attack animal.
(It has enough smooth and round body parts to be a pet, and enough sharp and twisted looking features to be an evil creature.)
Maybe we can employ it with two different textures and sizes: One small size, nicely textured, neat pet-like behaviour. Another larger, and evil (e.g. with dirt and blood in the texture, glowing eyes, etc.), attacking the player...
