Hello there!

Can I import maya-objects (Maya form Autodesk) into CaWE?

I've got the 8.5 PLE.

Which specific file format are you looking for?
Ca3DE can currently read .ase, .lwo (Lightwave), md5mesh and md5anim (Doom3) and mdk (Half-Life 1).

Maya only creates .mp-files :(

Well, but there are plenty of exporters to other file formats, including those listed above.
For example, google for "maya md5 exporter" (you might want to employ Doom3/Quake4 itself for converting Maya files to md5's).
:google: ( <-- Finally - for the first time a nice opportunity to use this smiley! ;) )

I didn't try these, but for example there are aseExporter and md5Exporter at http://scripts.zbufferstudios.com/
I'm sure there are plenty more quality exporters available.

Hi maybe i can give you some more info.

The problem with Maya PLE is that it is a restricted version for learning, hence the name Personal Learning Editon.
The mp. file format is only used by that version of Maya, of course the normal Maya Version can load mp files.
I guess that the PLE Editon is also capable of loading .ma and .mb files, native formats of maya.

Sorry to say but its not really a good way of working with the PLE edition as it is very restricted. :(
For modelling Blender is very nice as it is freeware, and for a few bucks (~120) you can purchase Silo, a very fast modelling tool.
