Reactivating the phpBB2 forums!

Post by Carsten » 2005-09-19, 13:06

Hello all,

these forums here at http://www.ca3d-engine.de/phpBB2/ have now been reactivated!

After a long period of consideration, I concluded that the phpBB2 forums are the most convenient, comfortable, popular and user friendly discussion forums for Ca3DE, and many found them to be especially better than the website-integrated forums that we used during the past months.

Some notes:
  • The old user accounts of this phpBB2 forums are still valid and work. That is, if you happen to have an old account, there is no need to create a new one.
If you have problems with your existing account, please contact me for help (e.g. via email at CarstenFuchs@T-Online.de).
  • The accounts at the main Ca3DE website (integrated forum) will be removed soon. If you don't yet have an account here, please re-register. I'm sorry for any inconvenvience that is caused by this measure!
  • I'll move the posts from the integrated forums that have a worthwhile contents here soon. All other posts will be deleted and the previous forum be closed.
  • The website itself will of course continue to run with the e107 content management system. e107 is great for general website purposes, and I love the new theme a lot. For forums, phpBB2 is just a crucial bit better.
I've technically overhauled the phpBB2 installation already, and now it is ready for use again!
Personally, I'm really happy about being back here again, and I'm looking forward to see the action revive. I also hope that you all enjoy these forums as much as I do!

An update:
I've just completed the move/backup of the five most interesting and important threads from the previous e107 forum to this one.

Please see here for the relevant threads, which are prefixed with [e107 thread]:
