Do you prefer News rather at the website or at the forum?

Post by Carsten » 2004-09-04, 23:34

Hello all!

As you have certainly noticed, I added a locked "News" forum category to the list of forum categories.
My intention is to copy the News from the old website http://www.ca3d-engine.de/News.html into this forum, and then to change the News link button at the main website http://www.ca3d-engine.de to point to the forum entries rather than the old site.

Announcing the News as forum entries is easier to maintain for me, but the "old" site probably looks better.

Thus my question: Do you think that storing all news in a forum category is fine, or do you prefer keeping the News at the old-style website?

Btw.: The same issue is true for the FAQs, but for those I have already decided to shut down the website FAQs soon, and to replace them with the forum category.
Best regards,
Carsten

Hi Carsten,

I think posting News on the forum ist the better solution.
The most striking reason is, that updating the Forum is less
work, than updating the News Section on the Website. Because of
that, you can post News more often, so that people who visit the website see that something is happening around CA3D Engine. I dislike sites
that are only updated twice a year and would perhaps not visit it again.
No offense, but you know what i mean, right?

Greetings
