Which Game?!?
After Shadow asked me for spending some gun models, here is some quick result .. maybe you want to use it for your project
The gun geometry (and texture) is based only on this side snapshot..

actually i have no experience in paintball and i never had one of those guns in my hand, so im not 100% sure if this gun is really looking like this
polycount is around 750 (although i created very smooth elements)
There is no real UV-layout and i suggest to create a second "shadow model" to create a much lower but closed version of the gun (this will be used to create the stencilshadow )

Sure no problem
That's why i mentioned that i have no idea of details , because i never had such a thing in my own hands ..
Only this one reference image you gave me.
Normalmaps must be done using highresmeshes and i would not use this sideview texture without removing the highlights, or i would create a complete new one ..
by the way .. using this lowpoly "shadow-volume-model" method is really cool, (noticed it on Doom3 models) it gives you a perfect stencil shadow, much better performance and no selfshadowing edge-artifacts.

that gun can be around 1500 polys now. maybe a bit more. but eventually we will have to add a drop forward and tank and a hopper/loader. i will assemble some pics for you of these. i will not be online unfourtunatly this weekend cause of duck hunting but i will upload my website tonight so that you guys can crit it.
