Noob question: applications won't start

CaBSP, CaLight, and model viewer are just some examples of applications that won't open. I click on them, the computer asks if I want to run the program, I click yes, and a script thing comes up and then nothing happens. What do I do?

welcome to the Cafu forums!
The applications that you mention are "console" programs that must be run from the command-line.

but note that maps are normally
compiled within CaWE and that the Modelviewer will soon be replaced with the new
Model Editor.
