Dear Cafu community and AI enthusiasts,

Before we start, let us make it clear that we though believe this is the correct place for this section/thread, we may be mistaken. Apologies if this is the case.

This thread is intended for developers and designers who face the challenging task of creating and modeling artificial intelligence re. behavior.
Whether you are working on a lively environment populated with numerous inhabitants/NPCs, each with simple but diverse behaviors, or you have few NPCs, whose behavior is both convincing and complex, we believe MASA LIFE would be an excellent choice.

Indeed we just released MASA LIFE v1.5, whose features include:
  • Rapid prototype behaviors/AI
  • Visual modeling of reusable behaviors empowering designers with intuitive graphical editors (Behavior Trees, Navigation, Knowledge,...).
  • Graphical (remote) debugging & inspection.
  • Sparking life: integrate with our cross-platform SDK and deploy easily with a single-click of a button.
  • Extensive getting-started experience and documentation.
If you are interested in evaluating MASA LIFE please feel free to request a trial version at http://www.masagroup.net/products/masa- ... masa-life/.

Further to this we suggest you take a look at the following resources:
If you have the slightest problem downloading, installing, or using MASA LIFE, please do not hesitate to contact us with your questions and remarks, as your opinions and feedback are vitally important to us.

Best Frank

Hi Frank,
welcome to the Cafu forums! :welcome:

You've managed to post one of the very rare "ad-style" (or rather: announcement) posts that are actually welcome here, as it has a potential relation to Cafu and may be interesting to our fellow developers.

I have unfortunately not enough spare time to look more deeply into Masa Life right now, but would much appreciate if others shared their experience, and will certainly take a deeper look later.

Unfortunately, it appears to be designed for Unity, so I am not sure of it's potential suitability. It is also not open source, so probably would have issues with integrating into the public engine.

@Carsten: Thank you very much for your kind feedback. I really appreciate that you are ok with this article. I think it can be good for the community, although there is still a lot of work to do on our side ... like in (almost) any software :)
And yes it is not an open source product, although we contribute to OS space with our public fork for recast/detour (pathfinding/navmesh generation solution).

@SoulRider thank you for your good feedback.
In fact I am wondering, how did you come to this conclusion?
Actually our software is a standalone one and the only thing what we offer associated to Unity (as well as for other engines such as VBS) is an additional plugin and dedicated tutorial/help content.
Besides that, the whole product´s purpose and philosophy is exactly to be independent from engines at all, although we offer of course interfaces and/or plugins to them.

Hope this helps.
