News and Website Theme

Post by Carsten » 2006-03-28, 19:12

Hello all,

first of all, there is some news: http://www.ca3d-engine.de/news.php
:cheesy:
There is still a problem under Linux that I hope to be able to fix soon. I already figured out that it is really a very old problem that is just showing up again. I even have a very small demo program from earlier that reliably reproduces the problem... so chances are good to find a fix or work-around soon.

Second, I'm planning to upgrade the content-management system that powers the Ca3DE website, which unfortunately means that a new theme will be required, as the new version is not backward-compatible with regard to themes.

So I've started to search for and review many theme candidates. This time, I think it would be a good idea to install a bright theme, giving the website a more professional look. ;)

Here are some of the candidates that I've taken into account: Alternatives are to try to port the existing theme (which I like a lot) to the new version, or to use one of the dark/blue/black themes from infade.net, which I also still like (e.g. cvsBLACKv2)!
The new theme should have reasonably big fonts, though - I don't like characters that are only 6 or 8 pixels high... (e.g. the font at http://www.ca3d-engine.de/news.php is too small for my taste).

Please let me know your opinions  -- thank you very much in advance! :)
Best regards,
Carsten

Oh, I just found by accident a website that actually runs the cvsBLACKv2 theme:

Well, I like it quite a lot, I must say!

Are you going to make new images/logos for this new theme or just use your old ones?

I can do banners and such, I'm not saying I'm really good, but I can try.. Do you want very simple one or a more complex looking one?
What is the theme you are using or have you not decided yet?

Cereus, thanks for your offer, but I have not decided yet - that is the very problem. ;)
