Carving problems

Post by bigjj13 » 2010-09-14, 19:40

Hi,

I just started building a new Map, but if I compile it, it looks very strange.

Here is the map and some aditional pictures:

In CaWE it looks Ok.

Thanks

Hi
i checked the map and the only problem i found was a massive texture stretch on some bsp brushes.
I'll fixed a few and then did a speedy compile (no lights) and all looked fine, however i watched everything using the first person view !

Some notes aside:
Be aware that bsp brushes are a quite old and not so flexible when it comes to shapes other than squares (i noticed a basic round staircase) i highly recommend using a model for this and only some invisible bsp for light blocking and collision (if needed).

At the current time static models need a better integration into the (static) light distribution, like a vertex color channel support which would give a massive benefit to many aspects.
