It it not that complex to model and because of the fact that it's a weapon that has been modelled 10000 times, it gives me the possibility to compare my poor noob skills with skillful those of pros.
I never was into modelling so the last weapon I did looked like this. Looks better, doesn't it? It's still not complete, I'll add more details tomorrow and I'll try to create a high poly model for a normal map, but I don't know yet if Blender can do this.
Model has 966 polys right now. Well I'm a total noob so tips and constructive critics are welcome, thx
Your personal interface setup can be saved and loaded, very practical. Depending on what I'm doing, I load up the suiting interface/window order.
As I was not really into modelling, I can't really compare it with other programs - I learned it like this and everything makes sense to me
I totally love the system, as I totally love Blender
BTW I'm currently creating the uv maps and skinning them. I just finished the first part of the model, the magazine. Yeah I know, it's not just my first real weapon model, but it will also be my first full hand-drawn weapon skin but until now, I'm quite happy with it. I'll post new screenshots within the next few days
It's a model I made about a year ago when I was bored at work (so only spent about an hour on it), as you can see my brushwork isn't that good as yours, but here you see the magic of putting on a nice skin (actually there a quite a few parts where the skin doesn't fit, but I think you'll get the idea ^^)
- Some Linux Bash-Scripts for installing stuff. Dont ask further questions, because i can't explain that more simple ^^
